More about Vivek

Posted by Vivek on September 9th, 2006
Vivek Mittal is a creative writer, researcher, and law student based in Los Angeles, CA.

Vivek has a history of organizing and researching for immigrant and labor rights. He has worked with ACORN, ASATA, SEIU, and the Border Network for Human Rights. He decided to go to law school so he could work more closely with immigrants and workers around issues directly affecting them and live a sustainable life.

Since mid-2005, Vivek has been part of Voices Breaking Boundaries’ Displaced Corps writing program in Houston, TX (where’s he from). He has been a serious creative writer ever since and explores themes of displacement, race, suburbia, and identity in his writing. His work has been featured at the Houston International Festival (2006) and UCLA’s World Art from a World Institution art exhibit (2007).

In 2006, Vivek decided to start Your Good Name. He deems it a ‘noble experiment in unabashed publicity and funny writing.’ He hopes you think it funny too.

He hopes you stay and comment. Email him at vivek at vivekmittal.com. Enjoy.
